the series of unfortunate events

genre: novel, mystery, humor, gothic fiction, steampunk, absurdist fiction

my grandpa introduced me to this series as a very young age, and i was immediately hooked. tbh, im just a short version of my grandpa, but thats another story. i dont think ive ever read a series like this one. theres something so specific about the writing, and the art, and the way the story unfolds that scratches my brain. i plan on getting count olaf's eye tattoo on my ankle one day. this book series will genuinely always stay with me. my favorite charecter is uncle monty. it seems like everyone forgets about him! he was one of the best caretakers! he also gives me a lot of gender envy. my grandpa has the whole book series, and i hope i inherit it or something.

BONE

i found this series in the library when i was in middle school, and fell in love. this was my introduction to any sort of comic/graphic novel, and ive never found one i fucked with like this one. my grandma actaully bought me the whole series as a gift when i was younger, and its one of my prized possession tbh.

this book also has one of my favorite charecters, thorn. i was obbsessed with her as a kid, and i wish i could find some sort of merch of her.

now that im writing this, i dont think ive met anyone else whose read these books. which sucks cause the story is really good, and comes together really well. not to mention how INCREDIBLE the art is.

they both die at the end

i cried reading this LMAO. the diffrent stories kinda confused me at first, but i really like how everything connects. its such a beautiful thing, the way everyone, in some way or another, connects. i got a bit bored at times, but that happens. overall, this book made me really think about how much time we have in life, and how precious little moments are. adam silvera is such an incredible author, def one of my fave writers!

the land of stories

author: chris colfer
genre: children's fiction, adventure, fantasy
year: 2012

i was OBBSESSED with this book series as a kid. it was one of the first actual books i read, and i could NOT put it down. the art, the writing, its still one of my biggest sources of insperation. chris colfer has such a specific way of writing, and the way he mixes humor with this somewhat dark fantasy world absolutly blew me away. im so happy i got my hands on this series as a kid, the art stays in my mind to this day.

i fuck with this book series HEAVY. i love re reading this series, and honestly, its one of the only series i re read. i love adam silvera's writing so much, but this book series i feel is his best work. i feel like fantasy powers are always used in the same way, but adam takes it in such an intresting direction. i dont want to say much so i dont spoil anything, but dude, READ THIS SERIES. the charecters drew me in straight away, and the world buidling is amazing. i love thinking about the world adam created in this book, i love it, ill never stop thinking of this series, i need five million books and spin offs.

the five stages of andrew brawley

i found this book in middle school and liked it quite alot! i really really like the combination of a normal novel and a graphic novel, its so intertaining!
i dont really interact with any sort of medical media or medical fiction, its just not that interesting to me, but i did really like this book! i found the charecters very relatble at the time, but now, i mostly think of the graphic novel parts. they really stuck with me i guess.
